"a departure." is an album that came about from a lot of mental turmoil. originally, the plan was to release an album titled "harmonic desperation," and the track of the same name was intended to be the prelude. however, i ran out of steam while working on the tracks meant to accompany it.

so, instead, it's a mix of several things completed over the past year, but held onto for one reason or another, whether that be waiting to release it with something else, feeling like they were in need of some more polishing, or just writing them off as sketches.

they're vaguely structured so the bangers are in the front half, and the more chill stuff is in the back half, but really, order doesn't matter too much. we're proud of each track for it's own reasons, especially some of the more cinematic and ambient ones.
